Vibrant colour changes in the water are just a partial indicator of the toxins that are leaving your body. During the course of an Ion Detox Footbath session, the units water will most likely change colour and bits of foreign matter may appear as sediment. This is to be expected. It is caused by a reaction between the toxins being pulled from a user’s body and particles in the water, salt added to the water, the metals in the Ion Detox Footbath array, and the acidity or alkalinity of the user.
Calibration Techniques:
The colour change and the particulate formation you observed can only be used as crude indicators of the toxins being detoxified from your body; this is because only 50% to 80% of the water change is actually due to material being pulled out from your body. As much as 50% of the colour change could be due to the regional toxicity in your water supply and the leaching from the metals of the array itself. Should you run the system without your feet, you would still observe a colour changes, only not as pronounced; this is from the unit simply neutralizing the toxin in the water in the same manner that it would have also neutralized the toxins drawn out of your body. If you were able to calibrate or roughly subtract the colour effect due to the sea salt added and the leaching from metal of the array, you could actually use the unit to observe and measure the toxicity of your regional water supply. One way to approximate this calibration comparison is to establish the reference colour change representing no chemicals contaminants in the water (other than from the sea salt added and from the leaching of the metals from the array ); this can be done be by running the unit without your feet using Distilled water..
Note: If you drink the same regional water supply that you use to run the unit, you will find that the colour change produced by the water and the toxins from your body are very similar; the difference being that intensity is more pronounce with your feet in the Iond Detox Footbath Because the human body is approximately 70 percent water, it makes sense that the toxins in a user’s body is going to be similar to the predominant geographic toxins.
How does the Ion Detox Footbath work?
The array goes into the water with the hands, feet, or other body parts, and the control unit delivers a small direct current into the array, which causes the metals within the array, in combination with the water and salt, to generate positively and negatively charged ions. These ions neutralize charged particles in the body. The neutralized particles are pulled out of the body through the skin via osmosis and diffusion. Osmosis and diffusion involve the movement of particles through a membrane, from a lower concentration to a higher concentration. In this case, the higher concentration is the ion field set up by the array in the water. For the purpose of the Detox footbath discussions, positive and negative relate to electrical, rather than chemical phenomena. When the detox footbath is set on positive, the current flows to the positive pole in the array, which results in more negative ions being produced in the water, 4H2O + 4e- —> 2H2 + 4OH-. In this polarity we have hydrogen gas coming from the array, and we are left with an abundance of negatively charged ions in the water. Therefore, positive polarity generates a negative ion flow. When the Detox footbath is set on negative, the current flows to the negative pole in the array, which results in more positive ions being produced in the water, 2H2O — O2 + 4H+ + 4e-. In this polarity we have oxygen gas coming from the water, and we are left with an abundance of positively charged ions in the water. Therefore, negative polarity generates a positive ion flow. This process is known as the electrolysis of water. Ionization has been used for many decades. However, the concept of using ionization in a foot bath, such as with the Detox Footbath, is a relatively new idea. Similar phenomena occur while walking along a beach or near a waterfall. Ions are generated by the movement of the water molecules. We are creating the same reactions with the Detox footbath, only magnified many times over.
How does it help the body to Detox?
The machine does not make the body detoxify, it bio-energetically stimulates the body to enable self detoxification and re-balancing of the body as shown in our scientific research carried out by Doctors in controlled environments.
Why do we have to add salt to the water?
A pre-made saline solution (consisting of household or sea salt and water) is adding to the water in the foot spa to aid conductivity. The electrolysis process requires that an ionized solution be used to complete an electric circuit between two electrodes. The salt creates a frequency, which allows the array to work.
How does the array work?
The IonSpa system generates a continuous current, which is delivered through two electrodes built into a housing called an “array”. The passage of the electric current across the water produces ionization. Positively charged ions in the conductive electrolytic solution will move toward the cathode and the negatively charged ions towards the anode. This migration of ions through the electronic solution (i.e the water in the foot spa) constitutes the electric current within the foot spa/bath. This migration of electrons to the anode, then back to the cathode via the wiring and the generator, constitutes the current in the remainder of the circuit, external to the foot spa. This flow of electrons is from the negative pole, the cathode, towards the positive pole, the anode.
Why Does the Water Change Colour?
When toxins leave our bodies they are clear, i.e. perspiration. The toxins from our bodies react with the ionized water causing colour change. Similarly, toxins already contained in the water react to cause some colour change also. If the machine is run without a saline solution and without feet in the water then no colour change will occur. If it is run with a saline solution in the water but no feet, a lemon/orange colour usually occurs. This colour will vary slightly depending on the water quality and chemical content in your area.
Have you proof of what it cures?
The machine does not cure anything. It is simply a machine, which enables your body to re-balance its bio-energetic fields, which stimulates self-detoxification. When the electro-magnetic fields are balanced, the body’s organs will naturally function better.
Can I get electrocuted from the array in the water?
The array in the water only carries 2.5 amps, so is safe for everybody. If however you are using the array in a full size bath please make sure the Ion Detox Footbath control box is placed a safe distance away from the bath water.
Should I use the machine if I am taking medication?
Our research so far has found no evidence that any type of medication is affected by the use of Ion Detox Footbath system. However if you are concerned, you should consult your physician. If you have a pacemaker, have had an organ transplant, are pregnant or suffer from psychotic episodes or epileptic seizures; you should not use the machine.
What if I have Athletes Foot or Verrucaes?
Th e Ion Detox Footbath is cleaned thoroughly after each use. The foot spa liners protect the foot spa and insures there is no cross contamination. However the foot spa will be cleaned out after each individual Detox. The array is also disinfected in cleaning fluid for the same reason.
